It still gives me a little bit of a squeamish feeling to see my baby girl up there but Alyssa loves helping her Dad hang the lights every year!
We've been setting out the lights and candy canes since before we moved to this house. It's just our tradition.
Hanging the traditonal Christmas stockings is an important part of our tradition. And knowing my siblings all have the same stockings hanging up makes me feel like we are all together despite the distance that separates us.
My North Pole Village takes forever to get set up, but I do so love it when it's done!
I love my Christmas tea pots and tea cups. And reading "A Cup of Christmas Tea" every year reminds me of how important it is to take a moment during the busy holidays to spend time with those we love.
I started collecting Precious Moments Stocking Dolls for the girls when they were really little. They each have 5 and we hang them up every year on the stairway railing. Whenever I suggest that maybe we don't put them up this year, Alyssa looks at me like I'm crazy. I guess that means they are part of the traditional decorations that just make Christmas Christmas for her!
I love our 9 foot tree... but oh my goodness it takes time to set up, fluff and decorate. It's worth it though. I love how beautiful it is when it's finished!
Christmas Eve PJs are still part of Alyssa's Christmas traditions!
Alyssa was lookin' stylish as we opened gifts. She loved the new hat!
Our tradition is to spend Christmas day together as a family -- to stay home and just be together. A big holiday meal is always part of that too. This year it was a turkey dinner with all the trimmings! Yum.
