Fall Visit to Yellowstone National Park

Last weekend, we took advantage of Alyssa's school break to make a quick weekend trip to Yellowstone National Park.
 

We saw great wildlife...

This grizzley was amazing -- There were photographers everywhere with HUGE camera lenses taking pictures of him.  One gentleman was kind enough to let us look through his lens and we got a great view of this amazing animal.  I was so envious of the photos I knew that man was going to have of this bad boy!!

Yellowstone is such an amazing place.  We explored the Artist's Paint Pots ...

And loved the bubbling mud pots....

 

Of course one of the most spectacular sights is the view from Artist's Point....

And of course, no visit to Yellowstone is complete without a stop by Old Faithful.  Even against a cloudy sky, it's a spectacular sight.  (New blogger that I am... I can't figure out how to get the photo to rotate!!)

To Blog or Not to Blog....

Do I really need a blog?  No, I do not NEED a blog.  Do I want to have a blog?  I think so!  Why??  Ever since my last viewing of Julie and Julia, I've had blogging on my mind!  I'm not exactly sure why, but watching that movie, and reading the blog updates from a few of my friends who have blogs, makes me long to give it a try.  Also we have a lot of family and friends who don't get on Facebook, and I'm looking for a way to keep them connected to our lives.  Maybe a blog will do the trick!  I'm going to give it a try and hopefully it will be a fun -- and not too time consuming -- way for me to share what is going on with us with those we try to keep up with.  If it's a complete failure, then at least I'll know that blogging is not for me and I can silence the nagging voice in my head!   So here's to my first blog entry!
